4 out of 5 stars the world needs less fragrance   September 4, 2008
The powder shakes out without making an enormous dust cloud and it has no smell, making life for my nose so much better. Thank you for providing a product that makes my husband drier and me sneeze-free.

3 out of 5 stars Keeps Crotch Rot at Bay   July 3, 2008

Who doesn't appreciate humor in advertising? And what better way to charm a jaded consumer than taking everyday talcum powder, market it specifically for the scrotum and then call it "Blla Powder"? The accent is a nice touch, but wait, why not heighten the tongue-in-cheek factor with glib little nuggets like: "Blla Powder will make clammy sacks a thing of the past and will put 'batwings' on the endangered species list". (For those of you who don't know what a "batwing" is, urbandictionary.com will be more than glad to explain it to you.)

It was enough to sucker me into buying a can of this magic dust, despite all my good sense telling me that a bottle of Gold Bond's Medicated Powder could probably perform the same task at a far less heftier price - drugstore.com sells a 100mg can of Blla Powder at an appalling $12.99.

Let's see if it's worth the hype. Compared with what I usually use (Gold Bond's Medicated), side by side, there's no visible difference and both have a silky texture. Blla however, does sport a really pleasant oaky/musk fragrance that's not overpowering or obnoxious. Furthermore, it remains a faintly noticeable scent on the skin. I stepped out of the shower and dried myself off. Cupping about four or five shakes in my palm, I was ready to dust my privates. I gently dredged my sac in the powder like a pair of raw cutlets, and pretty soon my crotch looked like it was sporting two finely powdered German pfeffernusse.

The humid summer months in New York City are unforgiving. Adjusting yourself every 30 seconds is the last thing you want to be caught doing - it's embarrassing, uncomfortable and it practically signals to everyone around that your goods are stewing down there. Similar to Gold Bond, Blla left me dry and fresh for many hours. At the end of the work day, I went to the men's room and surreptitiously performed a hand sweep of my nethers, copped a sniff and found a pleasing, neutral scent - plus, I was still dry. I washed my hands and went home.

I was satisfied - but not satisfied enough to pay $13.

Blla Powder is not strictly confined to taming crotch stew. It works just as well for other parts of the body susceptible to dank conditions - feet, armpits, etc. However, versatility is not reason enough to shell out such money, especially since other talcum powders can boast the same claims, and at a fraction of the cost. The lesson here, as with some of my past reviews, is leave the cheeky, niche marketing out of your desire to buy such common products. After all, Blla didn't invent the scrotum sprinkle, it was just the first with enough balls to market itself as the first.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good stuff   April 20, 2008
I'm really liking this powder. I'm in the desert and the day time time temperatures are staying about 100 with about 80% humidity. My old standby deodorant just wasn't cutting it so I got some of the Balla powder and a Thai deoderant stone. The combo is the best deodorant I've ever used! The only drawback is that the bottle of Balla is so small and expensive. I expected a lot more. And be careful with the stone too...you have to put it on while your skin is still wet or while the stone is wet. Otherwise it's useless. But put these two in your pits and you'll be feeling clean and dry all day - even if you're deployed to the desert.

4 out of 5 stars Great product for those who like to feel dry   January 25, 2008

I bought a bottle of this locally and I do love it. It gives you the "A/C" feeling and soaks up moisture. Very nice indeed! However, I am saddened to report that it doesn't seem to last very long. Unless you have a crate of this do not use a lot of it frequently as it will soon run out! Unfortunate, the bottles SHOULD be bigger for the money. Otherwise it's great.

5 out of 5 stars There's more than one way to be a balla...   November 10, 2007

It's a great thing when you find a product you didn't even know you needed and fills a gap you didn't know existed. Makes you feel whole. This stuff is great. It smells awesome, for starters. Bergamot and lime are definitely the strongest notes, didn't quite pick up on the "finishing notes of leather", but it could be there too.

Apply some in your hands after a shower and give the boys some love. Your life should improve considerably.
