| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description When you take a little time to train your Robopet, you will reap the rewards. From playful to mischievous, Robopet exhibits tons of personality. Interacting with the environment, his IR vision keeps Robopet from bumping into obstacles, and his motion sensors tell him when you or anyone else is moving in the room. He emits digital animal sounds such as barking, whimpering, growling and panting. His tricks will charm you, and you can create a path for him to follow on the ground with the laser "leash." He makes a great watchdog, too, with his visual and sonic guard dog mode. Responds to commands from Robosapien V2. Features an automatic shut-off functionality. Requires 7 "AAA" batteries (not included). Measures 11"L x 6.5"W x 6.5"H.

Robo Pet January 5, 2008 Nice toy but it don't get played with much. Not what my 7 year old thought it would be.
Brilliant December 19, 2007 Brilliant is the only word I can use to describe this toy. It has a few flaws, but it is fantastic.
When I first got this toy, I was kinda bored with it. After I read the manuel, twice, it got more interesting. It turns out, that this pet needs to be trained. He has his own personality. I happened to get a particulary stubborn pet. He refuses to many tricks, so when he actually does some, it's fantastic. He also made everyone laugh after the many falls he had taken. You can tell he is programmed to do this, because he simply stops and falls down. This pet is great at getting up as well.
It became kind of old, so he went back onto the shelf. A year later, I developed another interest in it. When I had first used it, the laser didn't work because I had bought crummy batteries. I decided one day to take out these memories and see what happened. I changed the batteries, and walah, it started to work much better! So now, he hasn't been left a moment of peace.
My son loves it! October 8, 2007 My 8 year old son got it for his birthday. He loves it! He has been playing with it every day. The tricks this dog does are amazing!
This toy does not work at all January 21, 2007 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This toy does not work at all. It does not roll over, it does not walk forward, barely walks backward, and the laser wandering feature does not work. We put in brand new batteries in both the toy and the remote, and it did not change a thing. This toy has sat on the hearth ever since Christmas, almost completely unused. Unfortunately, we are unable to return it to Amazon as we threw away the packaging, and the only response we get from Amazon is a form-type email that we cannot respond to. Do not waste your money.
Don't Waste Your Hard Earned Dollars on the Robo Pet January 16, 2007 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
My 7 y o son learned first hand this year that marketing a product (TV) is what sells this item. He said, "I thought the Robo Pet would do more cool things on its own like a real dog....but it is really dumb". If anything, he learned a good lesson about what you see on TV is not what the true reality of the product when you get it home.
